FDT
Awarded Charitable Status 23
December 2010
The Fraserburgh Development
Trust are pleased to announce that because of their positive work
in the fields of community development, regeneration and the environment,
we have been granted charitable status by the Office of Scottish
Charity Regulator (OSCR).
Chairperson Ian Watson
said he was "delighted," with the news. "It was
a lengthy process and to have achieved this is a great boost for
the Development Trust."
So what does this
mean for the FDT? Essentially, having charitable status means
that the Trust will be able to apply for grants and funding that
were previously unavailable to us as simply a company limited
by guarantee. If we are successful in our applications, the money
we receive will go wholly towards projects that will benefit the
local community. We will now also be eligible for charitable donations
from people or comanies that support our mission and aims.
This
is excellent news for the Trust and the AB43 community, and a
great way to end 2010. |
