Mark
joins the Trust team
May 2011
Mark Jackson joins the Trust after 20 years in regional journalism.
“I am looking forward to working with the Board, the Trust’s
members and the local community to realise projects that will
make a real difference to the lives of people in this area.
“The Trust has a range of exciting and innovative projects
in development.
“The trust is a charitable organisation set up to bring
benefit to the community and regeneration to Fraserburgh and surrounding
area and has already transformed a building that had fallen out
of use into a vibrant Hub,” he said.
The Hub, based at 58A High Street, is now a thriving community
base, acting as a drop in point for a number of charitable and
support organizations, including Homestart, Choices and Healthpoint.
Mark is also BAFTA Scotland nominated writer and an independent
filmmaker, who hopes to utilise that experience for the benefit
of the Trust and the town.
“Fraserburgh and its surrounding AB43 area have a great
deal of potential and the Trust’s aim is to maximise that
to benefit local people and make a positive difference.
“My role is the engage with local people and help the Trust
to coordinate its projects and make them a reality,” he
added.
Board Chairman Ian Watson welcomed Mark’s appointment:
“Mark has a vast knowledge of the local area gained over
many years as part of his former job as a journalist.
“We are delighted to have Mark join us in the Trust,”
he said.
Mark steps into the role vacated by David Halliday, who is now
BID Project Director for Aberdeen City.
