The History of the Trust

The Fraserburgh Development Trust was established in December 2008 as a successor to the Fraserburgh Futures Partnership. The Futures Partnership was an organisation with the aim of helping Fraserburgh to thrive. With the news of its closure, the Partnership held a number of public meetings that would determine the future of its work, and there was a strong consensus among the attendees that they would benefit from a community led organisation.

Thus, the Fraserburgh Development Trust Ltd was born. Its objectives differed from those of the Fraserburgh Futures Partnership, in that the Trust aimed to include the whole AB43 area in its projects, rather than just Fraserburgh itself. It is also community led, unlike the FFP, which was run by the Council and other partners.

Since then, the Fraserburgh Development Trust has been working with the community to fulfil its main objective: to assist AB43 in becoming healthy, active, integrated and confident, with a local economy that is thriving.
